Award winning photographer Janis Hurley takes you on an African wildlife journey through four extraordinary locations.
Lake Nakuru National Park is a landscape of striking beauty and rich biodiversity located in the Great Rift Valley. With it’s renowned alkaline soda lake, home to over 400 bird species it is a birdwatcher's paradise. Award winning photos of Acacia woodlands Leopards and endangered populations Rothchild’s giraffes will amaze and entertain.
The vast golden savannahs of the Northern Masai Mara Ecosystem is a land of big cats! The endless golden savannas, lone trees standing starkly under immense dramatic skies, form a spectacular landscape for capturing these amazing hunters in their natural habitat.
Mt. Kilimanjaro overlooks the globally renowned Amboseli National Park, home to the Amboseli Trust for Elephants with a population of protected African Elephants containing bulls known as “Super Tuskers”.
Experience a helicopter flight over Lake Magadi in the Great Rift Valley by day and a night with animals approaching the Lentorre Lodge waterhole.

About
The home of the Riverhead Photo Club (RPC) is the Riverhead Free Library located at 330 Court St. Riverhead, NY 11901. Our group meets on the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 6:30PM in the library. We welcome all ages and levels of expertise, anyone who is interested in the artistic, technical or social aspects of photography. Our meetings are open to anyone interested, you can attend a couple meetings before making any commitment to membership.
Whether you have a passion for making images or a new found curiosity, we are ready to welcome you and provide a forum for showing off and improving your talent. Isn’t it time you got your images out of your camera, phone or computer and shared them with a group of like-minded enthusiasts? This is the place.
RPC shutterbugs are friendly and willing to respond to questions in an informal and open atmosphere. Meeting agendas include showing images based on a theme or assignment, presentations by members or notable speakers in the photography community and getting together outside of the Library for photo walks and events.
